The Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy of Germany, Robert Habeck, co-chair of the "Greens," will be the candidate for Chancellor from his party in the upcoming elections following the collapse of the coalition.
As reported by "European Truth," this information comes from Bild citing its sources.
Habeck is reportedly planning to officially announce on Friday that he will be the candidate for Chancellor from the "Greens" in the forthcoming elections.

Additionally, Habeck has returned to platform X (Twitter), where he had not posted for several years, stating that he does not want to leave the platform to "screamers and populists" in these times.
Among his first new posts is a video where he draws on some sheets and hums the tune of Herbert Grönemeyer's song "Time for Change," which journalists interpreted as a campaign hint. This is further supported by a bracelet on the politician's wrist inscribed with "era of the Chancellor."
It is worth noting that on the evening of November 6, the parties of the ruling coalition in Germany finally fell out over disagreements on how to address the country's economic issues. Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed the Minister of Finance, leader of the "Free Democrats," with whom there were the most disputes.
Polls indicate that more than half of Germans support quick early elections. Moreover, surveys predict a better outcome for the main opposition party, the Christian Democratic Union, in the elections.
