The Governor of California and Democratic Party representative Gavin Newsom stated that state authorities plan to counter potential "illegal actions" by newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to "European Truth," he wrote this on X (Twitter).
Newsom mentioned that he has called lawmakers for a special session next month "to protect California values and fundamental rights in the face of the Trump administration."
He indicated that state authorities are prepared to confront the Trump administration on numerous significant issues.
"Whether it concerns our fundamental civil rights, reproductive freedom, or climate action – we refuse to turn back time and allow our values and laws to be attacked," added Newsom.
It is worth noting that in California, during the presidential elections, Democrat Kamala Harris won with 57.6% of the votes, while Trump received 39.8%.
As is known, immediately after Kamala Harris's defeat to Trump, some Democrats blame President Joe Biden.
