In Lviv, a conflict between two men by one of the ponds escalated into a fight over fishing.
The incident is detailed in the court ruling published on the open data portal "Opendatabot".
The dispute arose because one of them was fishing in a prohibited area.
Case Details
According to court documents, in September, one man attacked the other while he was fishing, striking him multiple times on the head and body with a flashlight. The victim suffered a traumatic brain injury and contusions.
During the trial, the accused fully admitted his guilt, expressed sincere remorse, apologized to the victim, and requested that the court not impose a harsh penalty.
The victim confirmed that both moral and material damages had been fully compensated and asked the court not to deprive the attacker of his freedom.
Court Decision
The court, after considering all the circumstances, found the man guilty of committing intentional grievous bodily harm. The punishment was set at five years of imprisonment.
However, based on Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the accused was released from serving the main sentence. He was assigned a probation period of two years, provided that he does not commit any new offenses.
Additionally, Politeka wrote about a case in the Khmelnytskyi region where a court sentenced a man who was stalking employees of the TCC in the Polonsk community and published information about their movements in a Viber group.
