In Moldova, where elections are set for Sunday, special forces have arrived at the office of a Kremlin-affiliated party.

On the morning of October 16, special forces were spotted near the office of the electoral bloc "Victory" in the city of Bălți. The police confirmed that investigative activities were taking place there.

On the morning of October 16, special forces were spotted near the office of the election bloc "Victory" in the city of Bălți, and the police confirmed that investigative actions were underway.

This was reported by Newsmaker, as noted by "European Truth".

On Wednesday morning, five special forces buses were seen close to the office of the "Victory" party bloc, which prominently features the party of oligarch Ilan Shor.

According to media reports, the special forces arrived to conduct searches initiated by the prosecutor's office and the national investigation inspectorate regarding potential preparations for falsifications in the presidential elections and the referendum on October 20.

Later, police spokesperson Diana Fetco confirmed that searches were taking place in Bălți as part of the investigative actions, and more detailed information would be provided later.

The "Victory" electoral bloc was established in Moscow in April 2024 by five parties linked to the fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor: the party named after him "Shor" (which is deemed illegal in Moldova), its replica "Chance", "Revival", "Alternative Force for the Salvation of Moldova", and Victorie ("Victory").

In August, the Central Election Commission denied registration to the bloc, citing that the name of the coalition sounded similar to one of its member parties, as well as its association with the banned "Shor".

Prior to this, searches were conducted in Bălți at the office and premises of individuals linked to the "Revival" party – related to a case of bribery of voters and illegal party financing.

On Sunday, a journalistic investigation aired on several leading TV channels, revealing how Shor's political force is bribing voters to participate in its events and campaigning, paying them in Russian currency.

Last week in Moldova, three suspects were reported to have been detained following over a hundred searches of individuals associated with the party of oligarch Ilan Shor, in connection with illegal party financing and voter bribery.

It is worth noting that the upcoming Sunday – October 20 – will see simultaneous presidential elections and a referendum vote in Moldova regarding EU membership.
