EU officials revealed the message that Germany and France's foreign ministers will convey to the new authorities in Syria.

The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, announced that during their visit to Damascus, the foreign ministers of Germany and France, Annalena Baerbock and Jean-Noël Barrot, will convey a message from the EU to the new Syrian authorities.

The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the Foreign Ministers of Germany and France, Annalena Baerbock and Jean-Noël Barrot, will relay a message from the EU to the new authorities in Syria during their visit to Damascus.

She wrote this on X (Twitter), as reported by "European Truth".

Kallas noted that Baerbock and Barrot are in Damascus representing the EU and speaking on its behalf.

"Our message to the new leadership of Syria: adherence to principles agreed upon with regional players and ensuring the protection of all civilians and minorities is of utmost importance," emphasized the EU's chief diplomat.

It was previously reported that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is heading to Damascus alongside her French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot. They will meet with rebel leader Ahmed al-Sharaa.

At the end of December, the German government initiated several aid projects for Syria totaling 60 million euros.
