The Ukrainian Prime Minister discussed the energy balance, the status of gas storage facilities, and safety concerns.

On the day that the transportation of Russian gas through Ukraine ceased, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Energy Minister German Galushchenko, the leadership of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, Naftogaz of Ukraine, and Ukrtransgaz. They discussed the operational status of the gas transportation system and the gas balance.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting on the day Russian gas transportation through Ukraine ceased, discussing the operation of the gas transportation system and gas balance with Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, the leadership of the "Operator of the Gas Transmission System of Ukraine," "Naftogaz of Ukraine," and "Ukrtransgaz."

"As of 7:00 today, the gas transportation system of Ukraine has stopped transporting Russian natural gas. We addressed the operation of the gas transportation system and gas balance during today’s meeting with Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, Director General of the "Operator of the GTS of Ukraine" Dmytro Lippa, and the leadership of "Naftogaz" and "Ukrtransgaz," - wrote Shmyhal on Telegram on Wednesday.

Shmyhal noted that the Energy Minister reported that Ukraine had timely and properly informed international partners, particularly the European Commission, about the termination of the gas transit agreement with Russia. "European countries were prepared for this decision," Shmyhal added.

According to the Prime Minister, the Director General of the GTSU informed that the company had proactively prepared the infrastructure to operate without Russian gas and to ensure reliable supplies to Ukrainian consumers.

"We also discussed the energy balance, the status of gas storage facilities, and security issues. Details are not disclosed here. All operational instructions have been issued, and responsible parties have been appointed. The primary task is to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to residential consumers," Shmyhal emphasized.
