The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, believes that the "victory plan" presented by Volodymyr Zelensky will be reassessed after the presidential elections in the United States.
He made this statement at a conference following a European Council meeting in Brussels, as reported by "Ukrinform", according to "European Truth".
Tusk noted that leaders from various EU countries have differing views on Ukraine's "victory plan." However, he mentioned that this is not surprising, given their varied stances on Ukraine's NATO membership, which is the first point of the plan.
The Polish Prime Minister reminded that the issue of Ukraine's NATO membership was first raised during Lech Kaczyński's presidency, and even then, Warsaw supported "opening the prospect of membership for Ukraine."
"And nothing has changed here: on this issue, we stand in solidarity with Ukraine," emphasized the head of the Polish government.
According to Tusk, it is currently difficult to assess "how realistic Zelensky's plan is, as much will depend on the outcome of the U.S. presidential elections."
"At this moment, we are waiting for the results of the elections in the U.S.; no one is hiding this," Tusk stated.
He added that it is expected that the strategies outlined in Zelensky's plan "will be reassessed after the American elections."
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky presented his "victory plan," which consists of five points. The first includes an urgent invitation for Ukraine to NATO.
In the White House, commenting on Volodymyr Zelensky's "victory plan," it was stated that there is no consensus in NATO regarding Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that for Ukraine to join NATO, relevant reforms must be implemented and security conditions met.
