On January 2, the temperature in Kyiv reached +9°C, but will the entire winter be as mild as the start of the year?
In an exclusive forecast, shared by folk meteorologist Volodymyr Derkach from Volyn.
January
The first decade of January will bring sharp temperature fluctuations from positive to negative.
"Wednesday of the moon will be relatively cold: at night - below zero, during the day - above zero temperatures. Precipitation will begin in the middle of the decade, but will not be heavy," says the meteorologist.
In the second decade, daytime temperatures will remain above zero, while minor frosts are possible at night. From the middle of the moon, precipitation will intensify, and temperatures will drop slightly. The third decade will also not be sharply cold, although frosts may occur at night, with positive temperatures during the day. By the end of January, no significant cooling is expected. Overall, January will be warm, with temperatures not dropping below -15°C.
February
The first decade of February will be humid, with frequent fogs and mists. Nighttime temperatures will be below zero, while daytime values will be positive or around zero.
The second decade will bring moderate cold, but by the middle of the month, temperatures will rise, although precipitation will continue. At the end of the decade, minor frosts may occur again. The third decade will not see significant warming: daytime temperatures will be positive, but a cool western wind will spoil the weather, bringing local precipitation.
