Szijjártó criticized Europe for "hindering" Trump's peace efforts.

Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has criticized European leaders whom he believes are obstructing U.S. President Donald Trump from reaching a peace agreement in Ukraine.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjártó, has sharply criticized European leaders who, in his view, are obstructing U.S. President Donald Trump from reaching a peace agreement regarding Ukraine.

He made this statement during his visit to Kazakhstan, as reported by Telex and relayed by "European Truth".

According to him, "anti-Trump and pro-war" European leaders will meet on Monday in Paris, in an attempt to thwart Trump's peace agreement.

Szijjártó pointed out that Trump's return to the presidency has created a completely new global political reality that is advantageous for both Hungary and Kazakhstan.

"We are talking about two countries that have always maintained a peacekeeping stance, adhered to a patriotic, sovereign political strategy, stood for normality, and prioritized national interests," he stated.

Szijjártó emphasized that it is in the common interest to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, since both Hungary and Kazakhstan have suffered significant losses due to the conflict, and Trump and his peace policy currently offer the best chance for resolution.

"Therefore, we welcome the resumption of high-level Russian-American dialogue. We are pleased and reassured that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have had a thorough conversation," he added.

Szijjártó also mentioned that in Hungary, "there was joy and satisfaction upon learning that in continuation of these discussions, the foreign ministers of the two countries, Marco Rubio and Sergey Lavrov, have already discussed future opportunities for Russian-American cooperation and resolution in Ukraine."

As is known, on the evening of February 12, Donald Trump spoke with the ruler of the Kremlin and stated that he and Putin plan to meet. Following that, Trump called Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán previously criticized the head of the EU foreign affairs department, Kaia Kallas, for her statement that Europe should play a central role in any negotiations regarding the resolution of the war in Ukraine.
