The Italian region of Emilia-Romagna experienced severe flooding over the weekend, resulting in one fatality due to the natural disaster.
This was reported by ANSA, as stated by "European Truth".
The region declared a red alert for several days due to the risk of flooding. In just a few hours, 175 mm of rainfall was recorded, and local authorities compared the downpour to a "deluge of water," describing the situation as worse than during the floods in May 2023.
Throughout Saturday and Sunday, approximately 3,000 people were evacuated from the region, including about 2,100 in Bologna and nearly a thousand in the municipality of Cadelbosco. The town of Bagnacavallo near Ravenna was fully evacuated, having suffered from flooding in September as well.
On Sunday, rescuers conducted over 500 operations to assist local residents.

The heavy rains have impacted the entire territory of Italy from north to south, including the island of Sicily, which had previously suffered for months from drought and oppressive heat.
In France, one person has also died due to the aftermath of flooding in the southeast of the country.
Earlier in October, catastrophic flooding affected certain areas of Bosnia, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 people.
