Based on the personal story of Dr. Jim Swire, the series "Lockerbie: Seeking the Truth" deeply explores the circumstances surrounding the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in December 1988, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 300 innocent people.
Frustrated by the indifference of his government regarding such a blatant act of terrorism that claimed the life of his 23-year-old daughter, Swire (portrayed in the series by Oscar winner Colin Firth) took it upon himself to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
Indeed, his obsession has sparked considerable international outrage and family discord.
Swire continues to fight for answers to this day, openly challenging the official narrative that blames Libyan intelligence officer Abdelbaset al-Megrahi (played by Ardalan Esmaili) for the crime.
The cast of "Lockerbie: Seeking the Truth" also includes Catherine McCormack as Jane Swire, Rosanna Adams as Flora Swire, Gemma Carlton as Katie Swire, Harry Redding as William Swire, Guy Henry as Paul Channon, Roger Barclay as Cecil Parkinson, John Work as Robert Black, Sam Troughton as Murray Guthrie, Nabil Al Rai as Muammar Gaddafi, Selva Jhalef as Aisha al-Megrahi, and Mudar Abbara as Lamin Khalifa Fimah.
All five episodes of "Lockerbie: Seeking the Truth" are currently streaming on Peacock, with the premiere having taken place on Thursday, January 2.
