Ukrainian sugar producers achieved a historic record in 2024 by exporting 746.3 thousand tons of sugar, worth $419 million, to foreign markets, reported the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine ("Ukrtsukor").
"This is the highest export figure for sugar within a calendar year, according to statistics that date back to 1997, when the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine was established," emphasized the industry association.
Ukrtsukor also noted that 40% of the exports in 2024 were directed to European Union countries, while 60% went to the global market, with the main purchasing countries for Ukrainian sugar being MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries and North Macedonia.
