The Minister for Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, announced the official launch of a joint venture between KMW (KNDS Deutschland) and one of Ukraine's defense enterprises.
"The newly established company will focus on the maintenance and repair of military equipment supplied by the German company to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The first samples of this equipment arrived in Ukraine back in 2022," - he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the minister, Ukrainian specialists have already completed training in Germany, and the first systems have been installed at the facilities.
He expressed gratitude to Germany for its leadership in establishing joint ventures and for its trust in the Ukrainian defense industry.
"Thank you to our partners at KNDS for their willingness to collaborate with the Ukrainian defense industry. This is extremely significant for our defense capabilities – as equipment can now be repaired more quickly. This means it will return to the front lines sooner to carry out combat missions," - Smetanin added.
Additionally, he mentioned that the joint venture will significantly bolster the Ukrainian economy through investments and job creation.
