The Ukrainian defense industry will be collectively named "Zbroya." Approximately 800 manufacturers and over 1,000 teams are working on innovative defense solutions, as reported by the Office of the President following a presentation for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and foreign leaders showcasing the latest examples of Ukrainian drones.
"From now on, everything created in Ukraine will be known under the common name 'Zbroya' (ZBROYA). This pertains to armaments and the overall Ukrainian defense industry, which has revived and evolved over the three years of full-scale Russian invasion. This ecosystem unites the Defense Forces of Ukraine, ministries, other government bodies, state and private manufacturers, incubators and accelerators, institutes and universities, volunteers, and various funds. In total, there are around 800 manufacturers and more than 1,000 teams working on innovative solutions in defense technologies," the press release states.
During the presentation, Ukrainian-manufactured assets that are widely used on the frontlines were showcased, including reconnaissance drones, fiber-optic FPV drones, ground robotic platforms, interceptor drones, electronic warfare (EW) and electronic intelligence (ELINT) systems, communication systems, river drones, as well as missile drones.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to all partners who have supported Ukraine's defense sector.
"Today, you saw some significant developments that you have invested in. You witnessed what we already have and what truly works and protects. And also, an exclusive - the 'Palyanytsia' missile-drone, which is already operational on the battlefield. This long-range weapon is particularly disliked by the Russians," the president noted.
