The Russian forces are utilizing ATVs, motorcycles, and strike drones, while also deliberately destroying apartment buildings, employing the tactics of "scorched earth".
This was reported by the acting commander of the "Tsunami" regiment of the joint assault brigade "Lють", with the call sign "Mansur", in an interview with "Suspilne Donbas".
"The enemy has plenty of resources, especially FPV drones that inflict significant damage. There’s also enough artillery. The enemy is constantly assaulting from various directions — from the north, south, and east," — said "Mansur".
Currently, no enemy armored vehicles have been observed in the city, but active fighting is ongoing in the central part of Toretsk. The front line runs approximately through the middle of the city.
"The enemy operates in waves: one motorized rifle brigade replaces another. We destroy one battalion, and the next comes in, and this continues. Now we are facing the third battalion," — the military noted.
The Russian army in Toretsk is destroying residential and non-residential buildings, forcing Ukrainian fighters to temporarily retreat for regrouping.
"The enemy is burning everything around, destroying positions. Our defenders are forced to retreat to shelters, but then they return and continue to hold the line. We are clearing buildings, the frontline zone, and flanks," — added "Mansur".
During the defense, Ukrainian soldiers clear the routes between positions, eliminate the enemy, and advance further, but only over short distances.
