Fraudsters stole from deceased soldiers in the morgue of Dnipro - an indictment against those involved in the theft of property belonging to the deceased, amounting to 1.5 million UAH, has already been submitted to the court.

This was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's office.

According to law enforcement, a group of individuals, collaborating with an employee of the forensic bureau, stole SIM cards and mobile phones from deceased Ukrainian soldiers in the morgue. Among the members of the criminal group was an IT specialist who changed passwords and gained access to the deceased’s online banking, after which the fraudsters withdrew money, took out loans in their names, and transferred funds to their own accounts.

The investigation revealed that among the suspects were a morgue attendant, a forensic bureau employee, an IT specialist who hacked banking applications, and a repeat offender who had previous convictions and was already in custody.

Additionally, a similar case was previously reported. It is known that the criminal group created a phishing website called "Help," luring individuals with the intent of gaining access to their accounts and embezzling money. The criminals' victims included eight citizens from whom they stole nearly 100,000 UAH in total.
