This was reported by "European Truth".

Unlike most visits from foreign guests, Barrot announced his arrival in advance on Friday and reiterated the announcement early on Saturday.

Today, I am going to Ukraine.

Support, now and always, for Ukraine's resistance against Russian aggression.

Support, now and always, for civilians in distress.

Respect for international law is the condition of our collective security.

"Today I am heading to Ukraine. There will be support, now and always, for the Ukrainian resistance against Russian aggression. Support for civilians in trouble. Respect for international law is a prerequisite for our collective security," Barrot wrote on his X (Twitter).

On the morning of October 19, it became known that the minister had already met with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga, and they held a joint press conference.

Andriy Sibiga expressed gratitude to Barrot for choosing to make one of his first foreign visits to Ukraine and thanked him for all the assistance and support that France provides across various areas.
Among other things, during the meeting, he informed Barrot about the challenges facing Ukraine's energy sector as winter approaches and the ministers agreed to collaborate on this issue.

Prior to this, the officials had their first meeting in Paris during President Volodymyr Zelensky's European tour with the "victory plan".
