In Estonia, there are expectations that the ordered HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems from the United States will arrive in the country by summer.
According to "European Truth," this information was reported by ERR.
The HIMARS systems produced for Estonia are already ready. Only some integration work remains to be completed, said Ramil Lipp, head of the weapons category at the State Defense Investment Center (RKIK).
The installations will be delivered to Estonia by sea in the spring.
"As for the ammunition (for HIMARS), deliveries will begin this year and continue into the next," Lipp added.
The U.S. Marine Corps utilizes new PRISM missiles with a range of up to 500 kilometers, and at some point, Estonia is likely to transition from ATACMS to PRISM, Lipp noted.
"But that is a longer timeframe and a more distant perspective," he emphasized.
The Estonian Defense Forces have selected reservists who are interested in operating HIMARS. Once the new systems arrive in Estonia, the Defense Forces will begin conducting exercises.
"Perhaps next week, after the technical inspection, training can commence. The units have a clear plan for their actions. The reservists already know who has been assigned to this team," explained Major Tanel Tatsi, chief of staff of the Estonian Defense Forces' artillery battalion.
Most of the training on using HIMARS has already been conducted at the Tapa military base in collaboration with a U.S. Army unit.
It was previously reported that the deliveries of the systems ordered by Estonia will take place throughout 2025.
Recently, it became known that the Estonian Armed Forces received Polish portable air defense systems Piorun.
