As per the research, the overall price of espresso in Ukraine has risen 1.7 times since the onset of the full-scale war – from 19 UAH in 2021 to 33 UAH by the end of 2024.

By the end of December, the most expensive coffee in Ukraine, as in 2023, is consumed in the Odesa region – 40 UAH per cup. Over the year, prices in the region have surged by 20%. Next is the Lviv region, where a cup of espresso costs 39 UAH. The Volyn region takes the third spot, with a serving of espresso priced at 37 UAH.

The cheapest coffee for the second consecutive year is recorded in the Khmelnytskyi and Sumy regions: both at 28 UAH per cup.

Researchers noted that the highest increase in price in 2024—by 29%—was observed in the Vinnytsia region, reaching 31 UAH per cup. Only in the Kharkiv region did the cost of a serving of espresso remain unchanged at 34 UAH.

"Espresso is a fundamental component of every coffee drink, so its price directly affects the cost of any beverage in cafes," explained representatives from OpenDataBot.

It can be useful for comparing price levels and the cost of living in different locations. This indicator helps assess the extent of price differences for identical goods and services across countries, reflecting purchasing power and inflation levels, according to the company Poster POS.
