The Pension Fund of Ukraine is introducing changes that may strip certain pensioners of their right to subsidized utility services.
The new regulations pertain to the revision of conditions for granting benefits, particularly concerning the assessment of citizens' income levels, as reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Who is at risk of losing benefits?
Government support, which ensures full compensation for housing and utility services, is available to pensioners who are working as teachers in rural areas. However, some of them may lose this privilege. Changes in residence or an increase in income may be the reasons for this, according to the Pension Fund.
If a pensioner loses the right to the benefit, they can contact the Pension Fund to apply for a subsidy under the general conditions.
Conditions for retaining the benefit
To maintain the right to subsidized services, a pensioner must meet the following requirements:
Live in a rural area, both during their working life and after retirement.
The total income over the last six months should not exceed 4240 hryvnias.
Important information about subsidies
The subsidy is granted for a period of 12 months from the date of application, but no later than the end of the calendar year. The discount can be utilized by the pensioner themselves, as reported by the Pension Fund.
