Global warming has reached Mount Fuji in Japan. Just today, November 7, snow has appeared at its peak, giving it the picturesque appearance that both locals and tourists love to photograph. This was reported by Reuters.

The revered Mount Fuji (or Fujisan) finally regained its legendary snow cap on Thursday, marking the slowest snowfall in 130 years, according to the meteorological agency.

The mountain reached its annual milestone on October 5 of last year, making this year's snow cap the latest since 1894, when this phenomenon was first recorded.

Staff at the Kofu Observatory, which announces this news annually, reported seeing snow near the summit of Japan's highest volcano, standing at 3,776 meters, on Thursday morning.

The "first snowfall" on Fuji is defined as the moment when the entire mountain or part of it is covered with snow or "solid white precipitation," and it can be seen from the observatory for the first time since summer, they added.

According to Mamoru Matsumoto from the Kofu Observatory, in recent years, the first snowfall on Mount Fuji has been delayed, although the reasons for this remain unclear.

"I feel relieved to finally see snow. The temperature at the summit of Fuji has been high since October, so I could foresee a significant delay in snowfall, which caused me some anxiety," he added.

Official data indicates that the unusually warm weather led to rain in October instead of snow, with the average temperature at the summit reaching a record high of -1.6 degrees Celsius compared to last year's average of -2 degrees Celsius in October.

This year's hottest summer in Japan resulted in an average temperature increase of 1.76 degrees Celsius across the country from June to August.

Meanwhile, let us recall that the UK is shrouded in thick fog, which will last for at least another ten days. The British have not seen the sun since October 28.
