The capture of Pokrovsk is a strategic goal for the Russian occupation forces, and one possible approach for the enemy to advance into the city is to bypass through the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region while simultaneously occupying settlements along the way.
This was stated by military expert and former SBU employee Ivan Stupak during an interview on Espreso.TV.
According to the expert, the Russian occupiers currently lack the resources to head towards Pavlograd and further to the city and the Dnipro River, and this is not part of their plans.
"However, bypassing the city of Pokrovsk through the Dnipropetrovsk region, capturing it to suppress our military and forcing them to retreat – this, I believe, is a feasible and workable option for the Russian Federation, and they will attempt to implement it," Ivan Stupak stated.
The military expert explained that Pokrovsk has now turned into a ghost town, with only a few individuals quickly moving around, trying not to linger for more than a few seconds in one spot due to the extremely high presence of enemy FPV drones in the air and the constant arrival of various mines and artillery shells, making it simply unsafe to be outdoors.
"Therefore, I think that in the coming weeks we will see Russian advances towards this road, cutting off Pokrovsk-Pavlograd," emphasized Ivan Stupak.
