In Ukraine, changes to the rules regarding the provision of benefits have come into effect, specifically addressing situations where the individual entitled to benefits has been captured or is missing.
Now, not only the beneficiaries themselves but also their family members may be eligible for benefits, as explained by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
On December 13, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1420, which regulates the procedure for providing benefits for utility payments. According to the new rules, relatives of individuals listed in the Register of Persons Entitled to Benefits may receive benefits in cases of captivity or disappearance under special circumstances.
If a beneficiary has been captured or is missing, their close relatives residing at the registered address have the right to submit an application for benefits. To do this, several documents must be submitted, including:
a statement in free form;
a extract from the Unified State Register of War Veterans.
Changes to the recipient can be submitted through several channels, including:
Pension Fund service centers;
local self-government bodies or CNAP;
mail to the relevant Pension Fund authority;
the web portal for electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
After the application is submitted, payments will be credited starting from the following month to the bank account of the beneficiary's family member.
