A new scandal has erupted surrounding the Ukrainian national selection for "Eurovision-2025". This time, the focus is on the singer FIINKA, who is vying for a spot among the top ten finalists of the competition. The artist is confidently leading in the voting, but her song "Kultura" has become a topic of discussion online.
The accusations stem from a TikTok video posted by an anonymous user under the nickname "lil.oden". On this new account, they claimed that FIINKA's composition suspiciously resembles the popular Latin American track Con Altura. The post sparked lively debates and caught the attention of the competition organizers.
Producer of the national selection and well-known singer Tina Karol came to FIINKA's defense. In her statement, Karol categorically denied the plagiarism allegations, emphasizing that the songs are completely different.
"There is no similarity between the songs in terms of tempo, harmony, rhythm, or content! In FIINKA's track, the word 'hook' sounds like 'kultura', while in Rosalía's it is 'con altura', which translates to 'to behave with dignity'. These accusations of similarity are unqualified and unfounded," Karol stated.
The producer also noted that she is aware of who might have initiated these attacks, but for now, she refrains from taking active measures, hoping for decency. In conclusion, Tina Karol urged all competition participants, both those in the longlist and those who did not make it, to adhere to fair methods of competition.
"Fight with honor, and fate will surely smile upon you. I know who is behind this, but for now, I’m just observing," Karol emphasized.
