The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new draft law proposing changes to the mechanism for providing subsidies for housing and communal services (HCS) payments.
This was reported by Taras Melnychuk, the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
If the law is adopted, beneficiaries will be required to regularly allocate the funds received as subsidies specifically for paying utility bills, taking into account the timeliness of payments.
Main Changes in the Draft Law
According to the draft law, eligible citizens must monthly direct the subsidies received towards settling their HCS bills. As explained by government representative Taras Melnychuk, this initiative involves amending several regulatory acts governing the provision of subsidies for utility payments.
Important Conditions
In particular, the document proposes to clearly define the procedure for granting subsidies in cases of utility debt. Accordingly, the Cabinet will approve specific rules regarding such situations.
Subsidies and Benefits for Citizens
To support socially vulnerable groups, the government continues to provide subsidies and benefits for utility payments. These measures significantly reduce the amount that citizens are required to pay for housing and communal services.
