The USA plans to continue supplying arms to Kyiv without significant expenditure of its own resources, reports Politeka.net.
According to Reuters, citing its own sources, this move will provide Ukrainian leaders with confidence that arms supplies will not be blocked, even in the event of further Russian advances. European countries have already purchased American weaponry for Ukraine during Joe Biden's administration, and now this process is set to expand, notes Politeka.net.
During the Munich Security Conference taking place this week, American officials, including U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker, will discuss potential arms purchases with European partners, reports Politeka.net.
According to sources cited by Reuters, this is just one option that allows for the extension of American arms supplies to Ukraine without significant costs to the U.S.
Although Kurt Volker declined to confirm these plans, he noted that the United States is always interested in selling its weapons:
"The U.S. has always enjoyed selling American-made weapons because it strengthens our economy. There are many options. Right now, everything is in play. It’s not necessarily the case that anything will change in the next 24 hours."
Sources indicate that the Trump administration intends to reclaim billions spent by the U.S. on the war in Ukraine, hence Europe needs to do more to assist Kyiv.
